So what do you guys do to claw you way out of the creative abyss? Or is it all just hard yakka... tell me it's not just hard yakka... please?
On a brighter note, Duffy is amazing.

Good luck with that pencil!
On a realistic side, try reading some manga/comics for drawing inspiration or going out for walks for other stuff
Yeah, stuff like that. But other than that, it is a little bit of hard yakka

Well that's just like.........your opinion man.
of course being challenged helps. which is why i havent been slowed much by art block these days since joining a competitive comic club. though i really wish i could dedicate that energy to my own pursuits.

If only I could think of something to put here...
Not really as helpful or advicey as any of the other posts, but I'm here to bitch and brainstorm whenever you need

mweeeeeeee.
When that happens I try to play around with different things (like small short stories) that are as far from what I was working on as I can get. It either helps, or gives me something else to work on in the meantime.

I am what I am,
I am Bi-Lo Man.
For an existing idea, you can sort of go into autopilot mode as most of the hard work is already done. Hard Yakka gets the job done, but since you're working on it an the delay between the last and this has been substancial (yes; blame it on the WoW), just go with it. When the creative mojo is refactored, just make sure to do it.
For a fledgling idea you have to sculpt it from nothing. But usually that comes at a time when you have a creative burst of energy. It's rarely come on for me when I'm at a lull.
In any case, if you want to produce works of value, take your time. I don't mean do a page that takes you 30 seconds to finish every month, but I do mean work on your stuff at a comfy pace.
I have a similar thing with the List. I mix it up by doing panels (after planning them with thumbnails first, of course) in random orders, and doing pages out of sequence, just so I'm not bored. Also focusing on the more interesting panels first while in the creative lull and then doing the remaining means pages are done, even during low ebb times (wanted to do a portishead sour times reference to your george harrison reference, but it didn't q.

In short: ask for requests. Doubly helpful if people provide references. Get yourself to draw their characters in your own style.
Pretty much all the work is done for you, you just put pencil to paper and have fun (the most important part to get your creative juices flowing).
Good luck!
(took me months to get out of mine ._.)
